Snapdragons are one of the most popular winter annuals for this time of year. They prefer full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. Best blooming performance is achieved with a fertilizer at planting. Water them two times each week when rainfall is scarce. Snapdragons vary in their height. ‘Lobela’ Snapdragons are the taller variety that can reach 2 feet tall. ‘Montego’ tend to grow to one foot tall. One of the great characteristics of snapdragons is that they come in almost any color imaginable. Reds, yellows, whites, and purples are several examples. Oftentimes, you can find a mix of the colors bundled together. A mix of colors is an excellent option for winter color in an English garden. Snapdragons combine well with white Dusty Miller and Sweet Alyssum.
