Our growing company seeks a Director of Management Information Systems (MIS) to help enable our continued growth and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.   The Director of MIS will be a critical member of the management team, and a strategic thought and business partner to the CFO and CEO.   The Director of MIS reports directly to the CFO, works closely with Branch and other senior Management, and has direct oversight of internal IT activities.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, negotiate, project manage, install, configure, and deploy MIS applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing and new applications throughout the enterprise.
  • Ensure that any MIS integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the MIS systems; install and configure patches and upgrades as required, and ensure all required maintenance for optimal uptime and performance is executed.
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports as appropriate for effective communications with the executive management team.
  • Coordinate contract negotiations with software and service providers as needed.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for MIS products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
  • Liaise with network administrators and hosting providers to assist with specifications, program logic, and data conversions.
  • Support further development and deployment of reporting systems for field management and operations.
  • Establish policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources and overall business integrity.
  • Manage the MIS budget to contribute to cost-effective operations of the company.
  • Select, develop, and motivate qualified staff to effectively carry out department functions and provide for the continuity of specialized skills.
  • Optimize knowledge of system and hardware developments and lead the future MIS strategy and planning for the company.
  • Coordinate and support the Finance and Regional Management teams with the planning, integration, and training of personnel of acquired companies on the integration into Yellowstone and adoption and implementation of Yellowstone’s systems and procedures.  

This position requires up to 20% travel, primarily to operating branches and acquired branches during the integration and training phase.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or 8 to 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  MBA preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Relevant technical training and or certifications in systems programming, infrastructure design, and management.
